Forever Ray- Paying homage to the music of the “Genius” Ray Charles.”
Forever Ray has been performing to sell-out audiences throughout the New York Metropolitan area. They perform the exciting and uplifting music of Ray Charles, which includes a wonderful blend of musical styles ranging from Jazz and Blues to Country and R&B. Members of Forever Ray have performed with Ray Charles, Alicia Keys, Warren Haynes, Lettuce, Rod Stewart, The Blues Brothers, Stevie Wonder, the Harlem Gospel Choir, Frank Sinatra, James Brown, and The Temptations! The band features Whitley Shulton (lead vocals), Angela Workman (vocals), Chyna Grant (vocals), Samantha Joy (vocals), Mitchell Endick (baritone saxophone), Baron Raymonde (alto saxophone), Tim Ouimette (trumpet), John Farnsworth (tenor saxophone), Yayoi Ikawa (keyboards), Bobby Deitch (drums/Musical Director), and Joe Macaro (bass).
Ray Charles, an American musician, was a pioneer in the genre of soul music during the 1950s by fusing rhythm and blues, gospel, jazz, and country music. He helped racially integrate country and pop music during the 1960s with his crossover success. Frank Sinatra called Ray Charles “the only true genius in show business.”
