Steve Nelson with the William Paterson Jazz Orchestra

× Steve Nelson is one of the world’s leading jazz vibraphonists, part of the lineage on his instrument from Lionel Hampton, Milt Jackson, and Bobby Hutcherson. In addition to his solo work, he has been collaborating with the great bassist Dave Holland, and has toured and recorded with such jazz luminaries as Kenny Barron, saxophonists Johnny Griffin, Jackie McLean, David “Fathead” Newman, and Bobby Watson. He was a close collaborator with former WP Jazz Director, the late Mulgrew Miller, and was a member of Miller’s sextet Wingspan. This concert combines Nelson’s virtuosity with the high-energy WP Jazz Orchestra, and will feature premieres of arrangements of Nelson’s compositions by WP graduate arrangers.

Advance ticket purchase is strongly recommended. There is an additional $5 charge PER TICKET if purchased at the box office on show day.

Box Office hours are Monday and Friday 10 am - 2 pm, Tuesday through Thursday 10 am - 5 pm and one hour prior to the event.
There is a $5 per order fee for mailed or printed tickets held at Will-Call. E-Tickets/Print at Home tickets are included in the purchase price.
