Gary Smulyan won the Down Beat 2019 Readers Poll Baritone Saxophonist of the Year award—one of many honors. He is a decades-long member of the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, Joe Lovano’s large group and veteran of big bands led by Woody Herman and Thad Jones-Mel Lewis. This concert celebrates the release of Smulyan’s 14th recording as a leader, Night Talk: The Alec Wilder Songbook, an entire CD of songs by the iconic American composer Alec Wilder, including “I’ll Be Around” and “Moon and Sand.”
There is a $4 per order fee for all sales not made in person at the Box Office by cash. All programs, artists, dates, policies, prices and times subject to change. Valid government photo ID required for all transactions. Late Seating is at the discretion of the management. Late Seating is not available for all events. Live Stream events will be available at the advertised showtime. On demand viewing will be available until the stated end date.
