The Jazz Workshop Faculty

The traditional Monday night concert is bigger and better! Veteran workshop faculty members return to the Shea stage with Tim Newman on bass trombone, James Weidman on piano, and Steve LaSpina on bass. They will be joined by talented young staff who are integral to the workshop as teachers, mentors, and counselors: Abel Mireles on saxophones, Cecil Alexander on guitar, and Jon DiFiore on drums—plus, a few surprise guest artists. The group will honor jazz giant and iconic saxophonist, composer, and educator, Jimmy Heath, who was the artist-in-residence at the workshop from 2011-2018 by performing his music.

Admission: Public-$10 per evening concert or $40 for a weeklong Jazz Pass. (Jazz Pass is on sale through Thursday July 11 by calling the Box Office. They are not available at the door). Seniors, WP Community & Non WP students-$10. WP Students may have 1 free ticket with valid ID on show night.

Additional discounts may be available by calling the Box Office. There is a $4 per order fee for all sales not made in person at the Box Office by cash. Discounts are limited to a maximum of 2 tickets. All additional tickets will be at the full public price. All programs, artists, dates, policies, prices and times subject to change. Valid government photo ID required for all transactions. Lobby opens 1 hour prior to event. No refunds or exchanges. All sales are final.
