× When the Soviet Union fell, Cuba’s food system collapsed overnight. An isolated island nation had to feed its people and reinvent an entire food system. Cuba’s food system is a unique and fascinating story. Encompassing a sugar economy, a social contract between government and people, the emergence of agroecology and, most of all, the vibrant ingenuity central to the Cuban spirit.

12:30 pm event - Admission: $10. WPU students free with valid ID. This event includes a lecture and snacks.
7:00 pm event - Admission: $30 all seats. This event includes a lecture and buffet.
